Jon Hope "Rhode Less Traveled"

I haven’t done one of these posts in a while, but today I have reason to. Rhode Island musician Jon Hope released his first single from his upcoming album today. The song is called “Rhode Less Traveled” and I personally think it’s a great song. The song starts with a nice backdrop which kind of sounds like the beginning the Seinfeld theme or the Peanuts theme. Maybe it’s both of them combined…I don’t know, but Blaze P supplies Jon Hope with a great beat. Now I’ve been waiting on the first single from Hope’s upcoming album “Work In Progress” for a real long time and I’m quite impressed with what I’ve heard. Perhaps the most inspirational words of this song are the first few where Jon Hope says “Hop in my car, throw away the rear view, so much in my life I have to steer through.” I was immediately captured by the underlying message of these lines. Since I’m at an age where I’m always trying to push forward hearing Jon Hope saying that he’s pushing forward and not looking back was almost self vindicating for me. Much of the lyrics in this song are kind of eye opening for me in particular in the sense that, me being a college student I can either take the road that many take and settle for mediocrity or I can take a path that few take and see where that takes me. This is definitely a song that will be in my rotation for a long time. And the best thing about the song is that it’s called the “Rhode Less Traveled” which is obviously paying homage to Rhode Island which is my home and also Jon Hope’s.
P.S. Jon Hope’s Work In Progress LP comes out on May 9th. Go and get that!
P.P.S. I tried to post the link right on this page but it wasn't letting me so click that link and look at Jon Hope's other music.
